The eagerly awaited film from the director of Three Kings, an "existential comedy" starring Dustin Hoffman, Isabelle Huppert, Jude Law, Jason Schwartzman, Lily Tomlin, Mark Wahlberg, and Naomi Watts. Albert Markovski (Jason Schwartzman), head of the Open Spaces Coalition, has been experiencing an alarming series of coincidences, the meaning of which escapes him. With the help of two Existential Detectives, Bernard and Vivian Jaffe (Dustin Hoffman and Lily Tomlin), Albert examines his life, his relationships, and his conflict with Brad Stand (Jude Law), an executive climbing the corporate ladder at Huckabees, a popular chain of retail superstores. When Brad also hires the detectives, they dig deep into his seemingly perfect life and his relationship with his spokesmodel girlfriend, the voice of Huckabees, Dawn Campbell (Naomi Watts). Albert pairs up with rebel firefighter Tommy Corn (Mark Wahlberg) to take matters into their own hands under the guidance of the Jaffes' nemesis, the French radical Caterine Vauban (Isabelle Huppert). The Newmarket Shooting Script® book includes the complete original screenplay, a Q & A with director David O. Russell, film stills, and complete cast and crew credits.

This book is great if you want to learn more about the movies that the creature workshop did instead of Jim Henson. Although it does talk alot about him it's more about the workshop he created and left behind. It's a grest book if you love Jim Henson's work and I do !Get it it's great!

Jim Henson {Fraggle} Rocks!

Since skipping school to go and watch 'Labyrinth'. I've been fascinated with animatronics. The creatures produced both during and after Jim Henson have been both imaginative and captivating. 'No Strings Attached' is a wonderful book of mechanical invention, artistry and imagination. Being someone who loves to watch 'The making of..' specials on TV whenever a new special-effects blockbuster comes out, I found this book catered to my 'Wow! How did they do that?' curiosity. I am a great fan of puppetry but I am a biased fan of Jim Henson...if you buy this book, turn to page 112, the girl kneeling on one knee on the bottom right corner is yours truly!

Brilliant look into the movie puppeteers work

An outstanding piece of work, beyond overdue, but worth the wait. This beautifully presented, comprehensive book covers "Jim Henson's Creature Shop's" work from its very inception, including such Fantasy films as `The Dark Crystal' and `Labyrinth,'
right up to their most recent stunningly realistic contributions in `Babe,' `101
Dalmatians,' and `Buddy.' Includes glorious full colour photographs of what
happened behind-the-scenes, and plenty of anecdotes from the people who were there
explaining the evolution of ideas into finished product.
Any fan of the legendary Jim Henson, of puppeteering, animatronics, or any kind of
Special Effects would love - and be enthralled by - the hundreds of never-before-seen
photographs of the masters of their craft creating their wonderful characters, and at
how the late Jim Henson's influence even now instills the performers and
craftspeople with the drive to be nothing less than the best at what they do.
I so dearly wanted to meet Jim one day; this book may be the closest I'll get. Still, I
may be fortunate enough to instead meet his son Brian, who has taken over from his
father admirably.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book. It will be an inspiration to all who read it.

Former student of Joan Snyder
Rating (5)
Date: 2003-03-15
I believe "The Dynamics of Acting" to be an invaluable asset to ANY instructor OR student of theatrics. I,myself,am a former drama student of Joan Snyder,(1969/70 thru 1971/72). I, and all my fellow theater students, remember well when this book was being written. Many of our photographs are featured demonstrating various techniques & styles. For more than 4 years previous to "Dynamics" first edition she taught using the same techniques & styles found in this book. An extraordinarily gifted educator; her success can be measured not only in the many awards her students won in local and statewide competitons, but also in the many paths taken in their adult lives. BELIEVE in Dennis Caltagirone & Joan Snyder, and BELIEVE in thier book "The Dynamics of Acting". Both you, your students and all of your experiences in theatrics & in your lives will be enriched in the process. My all time favorite Joan Snyder phrase:"Remember: The KEY to acting is BELIEVABILITY".

A Great Book for Everyone
Rating (5)
Date: 2000-10-09
After looking at many books for insights into the theatre and teaching drama to my students, I've discovered the wonder of this book that arranges the abundant material in such an easy to digest form that my students are borrowing it from me to read it themselves. It not only informs, but it cultivates interest and is a necessary reference for any teacher of English Literature, drama or stage production. Thank you Dennis!
