I recently am going to to school and enrolled in the emt program and needed to get this book. I priced this book at my college and it was around 80 dollars and when I ordered it off amazon it was 20 dollars less. as for the book it is very good with lots of details. The cd that comes with the book is very helpful in that it gives you questions and helps guide you to understand what you need to learn. Overall this textbook is a good investment when you need to purchase it for college.

Great Book. Was very useful regarding the PHEC level training in New Zealand. DVD was excellent to work through when I could not be bothered reading. Full of excellent tables, diagrams, charts etc for ease of study. Overall an excellent book for those looking to start their EMS/PHEC career.

Save money and buy this rather than the new edition

We used the newer edition of this book for my EMT-B class, but I wanted to save money so I bought this one instead. Most of the info is exactly the same, there are just older pictures. My class didn't use our book very much, so it didn't matter that mine had different page numbers and stuff. Ask your teacher first, but I would strongly strongly recommend getting this edition to save yourself a lot of money.
